HABUMUGISHA Fabien

While each child has their own story, donations are pooled and shared evenly to support the entire class.

Fabien, born in Musanze District to Nyiranzabimana Alice and Uwizeyimana Jean, grew up in a single-parent household marked by deep poverty. His father passed away when he was very young, leaving Fabien and his mother to face life’s harshest struggles alone. Without guidance, protection, or basic needs, Fabien’s childhood was filled with hunger, fear, and the harsh reality of street life. At times, he was even arrested simply for being on the streets, deepening his sense of abandonment.Everything changed when Fabien met Art for Change Rwanda. For the first time, he felt cared for and supported. With educational and psychosocial support, he returned to school and now excels in Senior One. Through sewing and fashion design, Fabien channels his past pain into creativity, healing, and hope. Once lost to the streets, Fabien today walks with confidence, ambition, and the belief that his future is his to shape.
