ISIMBI Tessy

Tessy was born in 2017 and grew up in Musanze District, Rwanda, in a life marked by hardship. Raised by her mother alone, Tessy’s childhood was shaped by poverty and struggle. The lack of school materials, the constant worry about school fees, and the daily challenges of survival made her early education difficult and full of interruptions. Yet, despite these obstacles, Tessy carried a spark of curiosity and creativity that refused to be dimmed. Her journey took a turning point when she joined Art for Change Rwanda. For the first time, Tessy found a safe and nurturing environment where learning and creativity were celebrated. She discovered the joy of painting and drawing, a space where she could express herself freely and imagine a future beyond her struggles. Through the guidance and support of Art for Change Rwanda, Tessy’s confidence has grown, andher love for learning has blossomed. She is now thriving in her education while developing her artistic talents, transforming her challenges into opportunities for growth and self-expression. Tessy’s story is a testament to resilience, hope, and the transformative power of care and creativity. From a childhood shadowed by poverty, she is now a bright, determined young girl, dreaming boldly and creating beauty with every brushstroke.
