Niyibikora Emanuel

Emanuel, born in 2013 in Musanze District, grew up in a home overshadowed by poverty. His mother, Mukamanzi Clementine, worked tirelessly selling fruits, while his father,Nizeyimana, had no stable income, leaving the family struggling even for basic needs. From a young age, Emanuel carried the weight of fear and helplessness as he watched his parents struggle, often missing school due to lack of materials and uniforms, and facing the constant threat of being pushed out of education entirely. Everything changed when Art for Change Rwanda stepped in, providing Emanuel with school support, care, and encouragement. For the first time, he could attend school with dignity, pursue his studies, and focus on his dreams rather than survival. Through visual arts, Emanueldiscovered a space to express his emotions, release his pain, and imagine a brighter future.Today, Emanuel is in Senior One, growing academically and emotionally, with a dream to become a recognized artist and advocate for children who, like him, face the risk of dropping out due to poverty. His journey is a testament to how love, opportunity, and creative support can transform vulnerability into hope, resilience, and purpose.
