Uju Praise Uzoma

Praise Uzoma, born in 2018 in Musanze District, began life in the shadow of hardship. At just two years old, her mother’s severe mental illness left Uju without the care every child deserves. Raised by neighbors and family friends, she faced a childhood filled with uncertainty, loneliness, and longing. Her Guardian Ayinkamiye Rosizine Despite these challenges, a quiet resilience grew within her. When Uju joined Art for Change Rwanda, her world began to change. Surrounded by caring educators and friends, she discovereda safe space to express herself through painting and drawing. These creative moments became her refuge a place to release fear, rediscover joy, and nurture her dreams.Today, Uju is a happy, thriving child. No longer defined by the hardships of her early years, she radiates courage, creativity, and hopes a living testament to the power of love, care, and opportunity to transform a young life.
