UMUTONI WASE Angelique

While each child has their own story, donations are pooled and shared evenly to support the entire class.

WASE Angelique, born in 2014 in Musanze District, grew up in the shadow of extreme poverty. With a mother Mutezimana Anonciata working tirelessly to provide and scarceresources for school, Angelique faced hardships no child should bear—struggling with hunger, missing school materials, and watching other children move ahead while she struggled to keep up. Yet, her spirit remained resilient. When she joined Art for Change Rwanda, Angelique discovered a safe space where her talents and dreams could flourish. Through music, performance, and poetry, she found her voice—a way to express her emotions, tell her story, and inspire others. Today, Angelique is a confident and creative student, excelling in school while shining in the Music and Performance Department. From a childhood of struggle, she has emerged as a young girl full of courage, hope, and determination. Her journey is a testament to the transformative power of care, education, and the arts, showing that with support and opportunity, even thetoughest beginnings can blossom into a future filled with possibility.
