Uwiringiyimana Hakim

While each child has their own story, donations are pooled and shared evenly to support the entire class.

Hakim, born in 2010 in Musanze District, grew up in the shadow of poverty and abandonment. With his father absent and his mother struggling to survive without an income, Hakim’schildhood was filled with hunger, uncertainty, and fear. Many days, after school, he wandered the streets searching for food, burdened by the weight of family hardship and the doubt that education could ever change his life. Everything changed when he joined Art for Change Rwanda. For the first time, Hakim found a safe and welcoming space where he felt understood, valued, and free to express him. Through painting and drawing, he discovered joy, hope, and a growing confidence in his abilities. Today, Hakim isa thriving Senior One student, equipped with school materials and guidance, and flourishing in his artistic talents. His resilience, ambition, and compassion now shine brighter than his early struggles. He dreams of becoming a strong, independent individual and a beacon of hope for others, proving that love, support, and creativity can transform even the hardest beginnings into a future full of promise.
