Jean Pierre's Story: Back in School and Chasing a Musical Dream

Gisubizo Jean Pierre is 17 years old and a second year secondary school student. Since 2023 he has been part of the Art for Change Rwanda family, an organisation he describes as a source of hope and opportunity in his life.

Before joining, life was extremely difficult. Jean Pierre's family struggled to afford school fees and even the most basic school materials. Continuing his education seemed almost impossible, and there were moments when he feared his dreams would end before they had truly begun.

Everything began to change when Art for Change Rwanda opened its doors to him. With their support, he was able to return to school and continue his studies without interruption. Today he studies with confidence and determination, performs well academically and works hard to achieve strong results, because he now has the encouragement he once lacked.

The support went beyond the classroom. Through the organisation, Jean Pierre has access to health insurance, so when he falls ill he can receive medical care without fear. That security has brought real peace of mind to his life.

Perhaps the greatest gift has been discovering his own talent. In the Music Department, Jean Pierre found a passion for music and a dream worth pursuing. He hopes to become a world renowned musician one day, and to use his success not only for himself but to give back to society and support vulnerable children facing the same challenges he once faced.
